Privacy Policy
Floppy Arcade privacy policy
In short: Floppy Arcade counts how the games are played so we can fix and improve them. It does not ask for your name, email or location, it has no accounts, and it does not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Who this applies to
Floppy Arcade is made for people age 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us (see the bottom of this page) and we will help.
What the app collects
Floppy Arcade uses Firebase Analytics, provided by Google. It records:
- Game activity: when a game starts, when a level is finished, when a game ends, and when an in-game upgrade is picked. Each of these carries the name of the game, and sometimes the score or the level. In-game upgrades are earned with points, not money.
- App activity: when the app is opened for the first time, when a session starts and when the app is updated.
- A random install ID: Firebase gives each installation of the app a random identifier. It is not your name, your email or your Apple ID, and it is not the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Basic device details: phone model, iOS version, app version and language.
- A rough region: Google works out your approximate country, region and city from your network (IP) address. The app never asks your phone for your location.
Your best scores and settings are kept on your phone only. They are not sent anywhere.
Ads
The finished version of Floppy Arcade will show ads from Google AdMob. The test versions do not show real ads yet. When ads are added:
- The ads will be non-personalized: not chosen from a profile of your interests. They can still depend on the language and the general region of your phone.
- AdMob records which ads were shown, taps on ads, an identifier that is not tied to your name, crash and speed information about the ads, and a rough region from your network address.
- The app will not show Apple's tracking permission prompt, because it will not track you.
- Where the law asks for it (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), Google's consent form asks for your choice before any ad is requested.
We will update this page before the version with ads is released.
How this maps to Apple's privacy labels
| Apple data type | What it means here | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Device ID | The random per-install ID | Analytics |
| Product Interaction | Games started and finished, levels, upgrades | Analytics |
| Other Usage Data | Sessions and app updates | Analytics |
| Coarse Location | Approximate region from the network address | Analytics |
None of it is linked to your identity, and none of it is used for tracking.
What we use it for
To understand how many people play, which games they choose, where games get too hard or too easy, and which devices and iOS versions we need to support.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- We do not use analytics for Google's ad personalization.
Who else sees it
Google receives the information described above as our service provider, under Google's Privacy Policy, Firebase's privacy information and how Google uses data from apps that use its services. We do not share it with anyone else.
How long it is kept
Analytics data is kept only as long as it is useful for understanding how the games are played, and in line with the retention setting in our Firebase project. Google keeps ad data under its own policies.
Your choices and deleting your data
Floppy Arcade has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. Deleting the app removes your scores and stops all collection. To ask us to delete analytics data, see Delete your Floppy Arcade data.
Security
Information sent from the app to Google travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
Changes to this policy
If Floppy Arcade changes what it collects, for example by adding ads, purchases or sign-in, we will update this page before that version is released and change the effective date above.
